April Sexual Assault Awareness Month: Inclusion and Equity in Coworking Working Group
April 15 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PDT
While we don’t have the answers, we know that the gender and racial inequities that affect our society are prevalent in coworking.
Women Who Cowork is working in collaboration with the Coworking IDEA Project and with a shared mission to make coworking more inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible. Each month we are holding space to have a regular, ongoing “group think” with the goal of creating actionable steps toward creating an inclusive and equitable coworking movement. Each month’s topic will align and support the monthly challenges being created by the Coworking IDEA Project.
For the month of April, the challenge is to create or update your Membership Agreement and Code of Conduct for your space and upcoming events. In solidarity with Sexual Assault Awareness Month, WWCO will be providing guidance on how to craft a policy specific to sexual harassment and assault prevention and response.
We desire to create a working group that is not white or cis-gendered centered, and yet starting off this conversation as two white cis-gendered women, we acknowledge that the our understanding of these complex issues is limited to our lived experience. As this group grows, we hope that the diversity of thought grows with it, and allows the agenda to shift to accommodate a diversity of experiences.
We need your voice! Open to all who identify as women and non-binary people working as operators, founders and members of coworking spaces.
This event is free and you can register here.
